Welcome Pastor Mark Smith

The Pastor Parish Relations Committee has been working with our District Superintendent to secure the appointment of a full-time pastor for our church.  Reverend Mark Smith will be coming to our church family beginning September 1. Even though Pastor Mark will not officially receive his appointment until September 1, he and his family will be moving into the parsonage in August so that the children can begin the school year. 

Mark is looking forward to the ministry that we as a church family can do together with him.  He encourages everyone to just stop by and talk, and especially encourages people to come to him with ideas and suggestions of how we can minister to our community and the world.  Please welcome Pastor Mark and his family to our church and our community.

Chicken and Noodle Dinner

Mark your calendars for the annual chicken and noodle dinner to be held on January 27, 2012.  Serving from 5 - 7 pm.

Back to Church Sunday - November 20, 2011

Invite your friends and neighbors to attend the Back to Church event with a potluck to follow after church service.

Charge Conference 

Our Charge Conference has been set for Sunday, November 20, 2011 at 1:30 pm here at the church.  We will be working hard to get our forms completed by November 9th, as we need to have them sent to the District Superintendent Office by that date. 

Advent

First Sunday in Advent is November 27 and our plans are to do the "Hanging of Greens" following the 10:30 am Worship Service.  We will share in a light lunch with the choir members providing soup and drink (if you would like to bring pickles, cheese, dessert, etc that would be great).  Please join us in the starting of the Advent season.

Day Trip - December 3, 2011

Tour guide Tom is making plans for a day trip to Quincy.  Plans are to leave the church by 11:00 am to have lunch at Sprouts - visit areas of interest - mall - take in the Christmas lights.  Watch the bulletin for more details.

Kids Hope USA

Currently, our church is sponsoring a KHUSA program with the West Prairie Elementary and Middle Schools  We have five mentors and prayer partners  That means we help five students in our local.  The principals report that there are many, many more students who could benefit from support of this nature.  It is amazing how much children benefit from faithfuul friendship and support of an adult mentor.  If you are interested, have questions, or want more information about what a mentor does, contact Phyllis.  To visit Kids Hope USA web site, click the following link.  Kids Hope USA home page

Grace Night  (God Reaching Adults, Children, and Everyone)

Come for the food, stay for the fun - every Wednesday at 6:00 pm.  Children & adults of all ages welcome.  Grace Night is a good fellowship time with fellow Christians.  We have or class for adults and two for children grades 5 and up, and grades 4 and down.  Babysitting is provided.

Grace Groupies (Kids group)

We are collecting cuddly NEW Teddy Bears to be given to frightened children experiencing a crisis.  A collection box will be at the back of the sanctuary, and will be given to local fire and police departments.
